Beauty of the Mind (精神の美, Senshin no Bi^?) is the fifteenth chapter of the main storyline of the mobile game A Sparkling Bouquet.

Summary

Note: Older Sonoko will be referred to as Sonoko and younger Sonoko will be Sonocchi. Yuuki Yuuna will be referred to as Yuuna and any other characters with the name "Yuuna" will be addressed by their surnames.

Normal Mode

Akamine's fairy drags Sumi away to battler her, her friends powerless to stop it. When Sumi enters the strange spiritual world created by the fairy, she is asked about her feelings towards Sonocchi and whether Sumi sees her as a friend or a rival for leadership. Sumi insists that Sonocchi is her friend, causing the fairy to further interrogate her and claim that Sumi harbors feelings of jealousy towards both Sonocchi and Gin. Sumi refuses to give in, however, telling the fairy that she respects her friends' strengths and would never blame her own faults on them. The reflection resembling Sumi disappears, and Sumi returns to the Jukai. Akamine tells the heroes that the battle is not over, however, sending clones of Chikage, Wakaba, Anzu, Takashima, and Karin before escaping on a Requiem Vertex.

Wakaba's counterpart attempts to trick her by questioning her reason for fighting the Vertex and whether her quest is one of vengeance. Wakaba asserts that although she will not forget those who were lost in the Vertex attacks, she chooses to fight for the living. Once she returns to the Jukai, she says that she could hear Sonocchi and the others cheering for her, leading Fuu to propose that they cheer on the others still trapped. With this plan, the Hero Club helps Karin, whose counterpart preys on her insecurities as a hero and her struggles with friendship, and Takashima, whose counterpart preys on her avoidance of confrontation. Despite almost all of the clones defeated, Akamine scoffs, saying that the ones remaining were her true targets.

Hard Mode: The Mystery of the Vertexes

Karin and Tamako console Sekka, who is deeply troubled about the constant Vertex attacks and likens them to pests. This leads them to speculate further about the nature of the Vertexes since they are not like insects or other creatures of the animal kingdom. Uesato Hinata then reveals to the others that Wakaba has eaten a Vertex before, and Wakaba adds that it tasted bland and watery. Sumi mentions the time Gin drank one of the water spheres from the Aquarius Vertex, and Gin notes that it tasted like cider and oolong tea. Karin remarks that since both Wakaba and Gin are alive, eating a Vertex is at least not harmful. The heroes discuss possible ways they could be caught and cooked and whether or not they could possess intelligence. Yuuna wonders if she would be able to fight the Vertex if they had their reasons for attacking, but Takashima suggests they drop the conversation.
